This beautiful mid-century style home had a narrow asphalt path that followed a slope from the front door to the driveway. It was not inviting, attractive or safe. The client wanted to contain the hillside and have a safe, inviting and more direct route from the drive to the front door. The solution was to remove the old asphalt path and build the retaining wall and step system with garden beds. It was a difficult site to work with because of the various elevations and basement windows in front of the retaining wall. The client chose to plant the garden beds themselves.
